Hey there! I've got a few people in the queue for comm membership who for various reasons haven't given me a statement of "I have read the comm rules and will abide by them" I understand that people have differing levels of time/access to the internet but if you've applied for membership and it hasn't been approved, if you could please just comment to this post with the necessary statement! Thank you.

In addition to that, I would like suggestions on possible posts or challenges or what to do with the community next. Anon commenting is turned on (will be turned off after this entry has been up for a day or two) so if you have any feedback or suggestions, that would be great!

How about a challenge to gather all of the information out there on your debt (from a credit card you pay off every month to your mortgage) and see where you can make a dent in it? We don't need to share numbers but sharing revelations would be helpful.

Also, maybe a challenge of collecting different ways to save. I'm self-employed and currently keenly interested in figuring out thinks like IRAs and such.

Ooh, yes! One of the challenges I was going to run was the "Chump change" challenge. You get a jar you can't open, and every day you empty your coins into it. At regular intervals, you take it to the bank.

I might ask for volunteers to write posts about different methods of saving. I am a fan of the "automatic debit into an online savings account" method to start with.

... goodness! That's a great idea, but I'm not even sure how you'd start! I guess a credit report?

I would start by looking at what bills I have to pay every month. All of my loans show how much I still owe. Admittedly, I don't have a lot of debt but I don't currently know how much I owe on my car still. I do know (roughly) how much I still have left in student loans as my goal for this year was to pay them off completely.

Hee, no problem! I know you're a real person! It's more, a way of screening bot accounts or ensuring that people with empty accounts understand that the rules apply to them as well.
