Hello, actyourwagers! I'm jame, your friendly mod. Sorry I've been so absent of late, my life kind of exploded a couple of months ago and it took me a while to adjust.

Just a quick modly note before I ramble on: it's great to see so many new people here! There are a couple of people who I haven't approved yet, largely because their journals have no userinfor/public posts, and haven't got an approved email so I can't send them a message. If I haven't approved your membership yet, could you please comment to this post stating you've read the rules (check the comm userinfo) and you'll abide by them? Thanks.

As my internet is unreliable (... seriously, don't get me started on the anti-competitive practices of monopolies without effective government control that conspire to deny me broadband internet) I haz a co-mod!

Everyone say hi to exhausted_pigeon. Lisa is a student and as such knows what it is to live frugally. She says "I took a look at the real world and retreated to university as fast as I could." She's a tiny bit less obsessive (read, a lot) than me and so may combine to provide a balanced viewpoint. She actually saves up for stuff and takes holidays and all!

Also, I know where she lives.

As an update and in the interests of complete honesty, I completely failed the "eat at home" challenge today. I bought both hot cross buns and lunch. I have a server migration, I'm stressed!

I've had some privacy concerns raised. From now on, membership is on moderated status. Also, please make any posts with personal financial details f-locked (I won't force you to, but some community members can't participate without that. Something to keep in mind. I won't be posting f-locked as there has to be something for folks who are just watching the community to read.)
